Volunteering
Every parent must volunteer their time and effort (i.e. by bringing concession stand donations and helping to run concessions, other volunteer roles at the swim meets- more information will be given during the potluck). It takes a lot of parents to pull off a swim meet and its more fun to be a part of the event.
Our Volunteer Coordinator is
BHR Racers Volunteer Policy
In order for the children to be supported and for all families to enjoy the summer swim team experience, volunteers are critical to the success of the team. Parent volunteers are a requirement for our team. We use Sign Up Genius, an online volunteer enrollment system, to sign up volunteers for various events including meets, team breakfasts, concessions, and any other events that volunteering is required.
If you are new to the team and have questions or requirements, please see about where you can fit in best as a volunteer.
Before the season
Training for specific positions (Stroke & Turn, Starter, Meet Director) is required before the season begins. If you’re USA Swim certified, please let us know. The dates and times of the training sessions are TBD
In addition, other positions require “on the job” training including Timers, Head Timer, Place Judge, Clerk and table positions. The tasks are not difficult and are essential to running meets. Each family is required to have trained volunteers.
During the season
You must sign up for your volunteer position online at least 48 hours prior to the meet start. If not, will “voluntold” parents as necessary. It is to your advantage to sign up as soon as possible to do the job you prefer! If a last minute issue arises and you can’t volunteer, please text
When volunteering, please check in with as soon as you arrive with your child for warm-up to receive your volunteer badge and any necessary material (and so we can determine if volunteer positions are filled). BHR Racer t-shirts for adults are encouraged so both the adults and children can identify parents from our team!
